Greetings everyone, this is Trial & Error Robotics! Sorry you haven’t heard from us in a while. We had a lot on our plate with all the preparations for our latest outreach events. However, now the team is back ready and rested to give you a full report on our latest adventures at the Spring Flea Market and more recently, Big Wheels.
First, the team headed off to Cherry Street for the Old Courthouse Museum’s Spring Flea Market. Many colorful vendors were lined up and down the block, while people roamed the street looking at what each vendor had to offer. Down the block, runners readied themselves for their upcoming race in the Key City Classic.
Our booth was filled to the brim with technological wonders, to 3-D prints that we brought along for the ride. The goal was to sell 3-D prints and raffle tickets to help fundraise for our team to purchase better equipment and keep our team cost-free. Children and adults alike were drawn in by our bots, and some of our teammates roamed around gathering people to our booth. Tankbot rambled around the street along with Bessie, which wowed spectators by picking up and stacking the cones, which is always a crowd pleaser.

Next weekend, the team was off to Halls Ferry Park for the Big Wheels event put on by the Junior Auxiliary of Vicksburg. This event featured many vehicles, from school buses, bulldozers, semi trucks, and even some military vehicles. Kids and parents were encouraged to climb into the vehicles, and kids could even play with the horns.
The booth was a big hit! We love that we got to share our love of robots with all the little kids at the event and even let them drive around the bots. Hopefully, this experience will inspire them to come join us when they are ready. The team also had the privilege of having “Spot,” the robotic dog, which was a big hit amongst the kids and adults, along with “Speedster,” the large RC car, join us at the event thanks to our team alumni.
The last two weekends have been a whirlwind but we have really enjoyed coming out and sharing our team with the community. We would also like to thank the Junior Auxiliary of Vicksburg for inviting us out to this event. To everyone who visited us at our booth and donated or just came to stop by and say hello, thank you for all of your support.
