Welcome back to another amazing article from team 10191, Trial and Error Robotics. We’re back with another riveting literary piece, this time reflecting on our recent Leadership 101 class. Led by our mentor, Mr. Aaron Cody, we explored lessons from his 20+ years in manufacturing and leadership.
The discussion began with the importance of knowing your “Why” — the motivation behind why you lead. Whether it’s to inspire others, make an impact, or set an example, your “why” guides your actions and how people respond to you.
We also talked about what makes a good leader versus a bad one. Good leaders support their teams, take responsibility, and put others first. Bad leaders procrastinate, avoid accountability, or put themselves above the group. Leadership, we learned, isn’t about being perfect. It’s about accountability, growth, and helping others succeed.
I enjoyed learning how to be a good leader, obviously. In the long run, it will help me be a better friend and teammate. The tips that I learned can be applied in other aspects of life more than just leadership. – M
As a team, we left feeling inspired and ready to apply these lessons not just in robotics, but in everyday life. Trial and Error Robotics is about more than building robots — it’s about building leaders.
Thanks for reading — stay tuned for more from Trial and Error Robotics.
