Trial and Error Robotics participated in ERDC’s (Engineer Research Development Center) Earth Day event for students in the Eighth grade. At the event, students visited several booths showcasing ERDC’s ecological projects, and education on the environmental applications of STEM. As volunteers, our team’s booth had the opportunity to speak to more than 100 students from various schools around the Vicksburg area and provide information pertaining to Gracious Professionalism as well as the various programs that FIRST has to offer.
Students visiting our booth saw our robot in action and heard a brief explanation of how our robot came about through the design process. Additionally, they were provided with information on how to join FTC robotics and the professional opportunities it brings. Our team alumni member Shelby, who was able to translate her robotics experience into a job at ERDC, was also present at the Unmanned Systems Research and Development Lab’s booth operating a Boston Dynamics robotic dog. Our team is thankful for the opportunity to help make ERDC’s earth day event a success and spread Gracious Professionalism within our community.
